A Wide Range of Counselling Approaches
Integrative counselling draws from a wide range of counselling approaches in order to achieve benefits for each individual and their individual requirements.
Integrative counselling maintains the idea that there are many different ways in which psychological and emotional issues can be explored and understood. All recognised schools of psychology are considered to have some valuable insights which can be used appropriately according to the needs of the individual.
Whatever the particular approach of different schools of psychology and wellness, it is clear that thoughts, emotions and sensations all interact and can strongly influence our behaviour. These interactions are often unconscious and ultimately we must bring patterns of thought, emotion and sensation into awareness so that we experience greater presence, clarity and freedom.
My integrative approach therefore explores physiological, psychological, emotional and spiritual issues. I have a particular interest in the synthesis of several approaches including mindfulness, ACT, humanistic psychology, CBT and Human Givens. I offer counselling in person at my clinic and also online.
