Hypnotic Techniques
Clinical hypnotherapy involves the application of hypnotic techniques in order to facilitate therapeutic change. This approach is particularly effective in addressing automatic experiences, those that are not easily influenced by deliberate, conscious effort.
Hypnotherapy is very safe as you are relaxed but always fully in control and aware of your immediate surroundings. There is also a reassuring lack of negative side effects while you are assisted to achieve positive, realistic goals.
Hypnosis is the process of inducing trance, a natural and frequently experienced state where the conscious mind relaxes and the subconscious mind becomes open and receptive to suggestion. Everyday examples of trance include reading an interesting book, being absorbed in a piece of music or daydreaming as you walk down the street. Hypnotherapy invites new perspectives that are specifically designed to address the root cause of a problem in order to create lasting change.
This approach can help people who wish to develop their potential in any area of life including a desire to overcome personal challenges such as anxiety, anger, relationship issues, low self-esteem, limiting beliefs, obsessive thoughts, phobias, panic attacks, sadness and guilt. It is also a useful therapy for people who find themselves in the grip of habits such as nail-biting, smoking and more deep-seated compulsions.
The effectiveness of hypnotherapy is strongly supported by clinical trials looking at various conditions such as IBS, chronic pain and post surgical healing time, as well as a great deal of anecdotal evidence from doctors and psychotherapists who have made use of this approach to treatment.
